Jayden Daniels is expected to travel to London and practice in some capacity this week, but Washington has not established that he will face Indianapolis on October 4. NFL.com reported on September 28 that coach Dan Quinn would assess the quarterback’s availability after workouts. Daniels dislocated his left elbow in Week 2 and missed Week 3. That makes practice participation the immediate news hook—not a confirmed return to the starting lineup.
Our September 29 snapshot places the Colts–Commanders total at a median of 47, with individual books ranging from 46.5 to 47.5. The analytical question is whether Washington’s practice week resolves enough uncertainty to evaluate that scoring threshold. It is not yet a question of automatically betting an over on encouraging quarterback news.
The game is scheduled for Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Washington is the designated home team, but this is a London matchup; the schedule alone does not establish a scoring adjustment.
A lower scoring reference, with important limits

The estimate is an independent scoring calculation. A calibrated fair price, win probability and injury adjustment are not established, and the saved projection has no current expected-value calculation. We therefore cannot translate the gap into an under probability or claim that Daniels’ status accounts for a particular number of points. The team scoring components are not a measured sensitivity test of his availability.
The central tension is useful nonetheless: the market requires more scoring than this background estimate, while Washington’s quarterback situation remains unresolved. That disagreement earns the matchup a watchlist place. It does not establish that the market is wrong, especially when the reporting identifies a possible return that the estimate cannot quantify.
The supporting roles matter in both directions
Daniels is not Washington’s only practice-week variable. NFL.com reported that tight end Chig Okonkwo and linebacker Frankie Luvu were expected to resume some practice activity after missing two games. Right guard Sam Cosmi and safety Nick Cross still required further testing before their statuses would be determined. Potential offensive returns could help sustain possessions; potential defensive returns could restrain Indianapolis. Those are conditional mechanisms, not established scoring adjustments.
Washington’s backfield also requires care. CBS Sports reported September 28, citing NFL Network, that Austin Ekeler was expected to join the active roster pending a physical. That is one underlying signing report, not a completed transaction independently verified here. His receiving-back profile overlaps with a role already occupied by Rachaad White, whose shoulder injury during Sunday’s game did not prevent him from returning.
Adding another receiving option could preserve flexibility, but it would not automatically create additional targets or possessions. The serious countercase to an under lean is a functional Daniels return alongside improved offensive availability. Conversely, practice participation without game readiness would leave the optimistic version of Washington’s offense unproven.
Price sensitivity favors waiting
The observed totals were unchanged across 11 matched books from the earlier September 29 snapshot. That is limited evidence of stability, not an opening-line history or proof that injury news has been fully priced. There is no timestamped before-and-after sequence establishing a news-driven move.
Execution would matter if an under case eventually strengthens. BetRivers showed under 46.5 at -107, LowVig under 47 at -107, and DraftKings under 47.5 at -118. A final total of 47 loses the first wager, pushes the second and wins the third; the higher threshold also carries a steeper price. Without a calibrated scoring distribution, we cannot establish which trade-off offers value.
The conclusion is a watchlist, not a pick. Confirmed quarterback availability, the extent of Daniels’ practice work, supporting-player status and refreshed prices would change the evaluation. Until then, the dated estimate offers context, while the unresolved lineup argues against treating a modest numerical disagreement as an actionable edge.
