Save your idea, then choose Generate draft. Analysis and Opinion both return a private draft for your review. You can also write or paste the article yourself.

Article draft and homepage placement

Homepage placement does not publish the article. Opinion appears in the Opinion section. Analysis requires source links. Saving edits to an approved article withdraws its publication request until you publish the revised draft.

Publish this article

This is your publication decision. Delivery runs hourly after confirmation and honors the earliest publication date.

Reader ideas wait for an editor to request research or enter a draft. Generated contributor drafts always return here for review. Saving a draft, choosing Opinion, and selecting homepage placement never publish a contributor article. Publication requires your explicit confirmation of the saved version. Your own ideas can still enter daily drafting, but the resulting draft also waits for your Publish action. The separate automatic daily articles retain their existing schedule.
